PANTONE COLOR FOR SPRING: TENDER SHOOTS...

Another one of my favorite colors from the Pantone Fashion Color Report for Spring 2013 is TENDER SHOOTS. This is a vibrant yellow-green that is invigorating and cheerful, very reminiscent of the renewal Spring promotes.

Although Poppy Red is an obvious compliment being opposite on the color wheel, Tender Shoots is well suited with Nectarine, African Violet and many grays as well. Paired with black & white, Tender Shoots can be extremely graphic and yet fun.

PANTONE COLOR FOR SPRING: GRAYED JADE...

One of the three greens on the Pantone Fashion Color Report for Spring 2013 is GRAYED JADE. This subtle green with a gray undertone brings about a mood of sophistication and is a nice backdrop to several of the other vibrant colors this season.

Not to be confused with its cousin Mint Green, very popular in the 70s, this is a more soothing hue. Best suited with colors of a similar tone such as Linen or Dusk Blue, Grayed Jade is well complimented with Nectarine or African Violet for pizzazz.

PANTONE COLOR FOR SPRING: DUSK BLUE

Every year The Pantone Institute develops a list of color trends for the upcoming fashion season. These colors transcend into the world of interior design as well. We've all heard that Emerald is Pantone's Color of the Year but what about the other wonderful hues we can expect to see?

First up - DUSK BLUE. This is a muted blue with a calming sense of serenity much like its green counterpart, Grayed Jade. Both of these colors act as the season's newest neutrals, along with Linen of course, to the other vibrant colors in this Spring's spectrum.
