SOLANGE & ALAN'S WEDDING...

I know you've seen the photos of singer Solange Knowles' wedding to her longtime boyfriend Alan Ferguson this weekend. As a lover of fashion, I would be remiss in not covering it here.

Solange and Alan totally redefined how to "style" a wedding with their simple, all-white version with the beautiful backdrop of historic New Orleans. What else should we expect from the chic fashionista?

First, the rehearsal dinner attire arrival...

then the outfit change...

The Wedding Day arrival - on antique white bikes...

The front and back of the jumpsuit...

The Wedding Dress and Cape by Humberto Leon for Kenzo...

The happy couple's wedding portrait...

The Wedding Party...

Her sister's family, the Carters...

The Mother of the Bride...

and the Bride with her son Daniel...

Talk about "break the internet." This is how you do it with class, Kim. It was simply beautiful. Simply chic. Simply elegant.

Here's wishing them a lifetime of love and happiness.
Happy trend spotting...

HOLIDAY DECORATING: WINTER WONDERLAND aka A WHITE CHRISTMAS...

It's that time of year to start thinking about the holiday season - at least for those of us who decorate homes and offices for the holidays.

One of my clients wants a Winter Wonderland using all white. Well, I love the challenge but I don't want the look to be sterile. So here are several important ideas I'll incorporate to achieve the look. They can be used whether the decorating style is traditional, contemporary or somewhere in between:

1. Use metallics especially silver. It adds dimension to white without adding obvious color...

2. Use greenery, wherever possible, to add texture...

3. Use candles and/or lights to add sparkle and warmth...

4. If you are lucky enough to have a fireplace, go all out and pile it on (remember you want a winter wonderland). Use objects of different heights and groupings in odd numbers. It just looks better...

4. Don't forget to add decorations to your chandelier or light fixture...

5. And lastly, layer lots and lots and lots of ornamentation to your tree for a full, rich result. Here are some of my Christmas tree inspirations...

Wish me luck. In the meantime, happy trend spotting...

Peace and Blessings,
